Fellow Ravenna owners ? Empty Fellow Ravenna owners ?

Post by Ravenwing Mon Apr 17, 2017 1:38 pm

Happy Easter !
Am hoping to get my head round the table configurations on the Ravenna  (ours is a 2001 (2).
The previous owner has done some modifications to accommodate a tv bracket by the looks and I would love to know how the tables were orginally configured.
Particularly the smaller table .
Pictures would be most helpful.
Many thanks

From memory it was on a bent pole going into a bracket on the end of the kitchen unit.  With luck a Ravenna owner will post a picture for you

If you bought one of these 90deg Table Legs and brackets and you can see a vertical wall space that wont obstruct the habitation door then yes but would need to have a look or again advice from a Ravenna owner

Hi, if you're still interested, here are the table leg fittings in my '95 Ravenna. The cranked table leg fits into either one, on the partition between hab door and passenger/captain's seat, or below the n/s rear window, between the kitchen unit and the sofa.

The top mounting at the front is screwed into the end of the partition and into a wooden baton fixed behind the partition. The one at the rear screws through a piece of wood attached to the side wall. Both bottom fixings are fashioned from a block of wood with a large hole drilled into it and a metal 'cup' inserted, then screwed through into the floor.

You drop the cranked leg through the top fixing, settle it into the bottom fixing then spin it into position and tighten the screw on the top fixing to clamp it into position.

These notoriously failed when old-fashioned (heavy) TVs were put on them, especially the rear one where the screws just pulled straight out of the wall, as the leverage involved is way too much for them. (Notorious, because they were, of course, exactly where you'd want to put your TV, therefore it happened a lot), so I'm not surprised your predecessor replaced one or both with TV brackets.

I find the small table(s) perfect for a quick lunch stop in the lounge at the rear, for comfy laptop use sitting in the captain's chair swivelled around at the front and for eating supper up front when I've already made up the bed in the lounge. You can of course use the small table(s) on either of the island legs too, giving you a lot of options, so worth trying to replace I'd say.

Good luck

PS. I re-housed the island table legs next to the hab door as I found it such an almighty pain to keep fighting my way through everything in the wardrobe to get at them.  up!

PPS. I've mounted my lightweight LED TV on a bracket fixed near the top of this same partition, and it folds away neatly just inside the hab door for travelling (with a little help from a bungee).
