Home Bargains
Spotted cans of silicon spray on sale in Home Bargains @ 99p each. It was located close to a spring decorating display, next to painting accessories, in bright blue cans. Always handy for the rubber seals.

Re: Home Bargains
Although we have plenty of chip ships, .99p stores and the like, we don't have a Home bargains store, not yet anyway Tony.

Re: Home Bargains
The wee toon has suffered from high street shop closures for many years and replaced by charity shops, cash converters, etc. we still have a M&S store for the posh folk.

Yes, we have all of the above which means that it's a paradise for someone who loves browsing round shops and not for me their partners
We needed a replacement "father and son" lamp for the house and SWMBO found one in Argos (owned by Sainsbury group) @£40. She also found the same lamp in Homebase, a few doors down in a local retail park and also owned by Sainsbury group, @£27.
Pays to shop around

Sainsburys was bought by Home Retail who also owned Argos and Homebase but in Feb 2016 Homebase was sold to a Australian Group and so it goes around AND around

Re: Home Bargains
Very hard to know who owns who on the high street these days.
Sainsburys owns Argos - Sainsburys bought the Home Retail Group which included Argos and Habitat
Home Retail sold Homebase to Australian giant Wesfarmers who operate as Bunnings DIY in Australia.
Sainsburys is owned by Lord Sainsbury (only 5%) , Sainsburys family (15%), Qatar Investment (26%) and Judith Portrait, Trustee of many Sainsbury Family Charities (4%).
Poundland is now owned by Steinhoff (a South African company) who also own Harveys furniture and Bensons for Beds.
and on and on, difficult to know where your money is going.

Mine seems to go to a large extent to the tax man... Income tax, fuel tax, etc. before I've thought about buying food.
Then there's my daughter at university and wife with a shoe habit. The little bit that is left is invested in motorcycles.
All in all the money is just going away from me!!!!
