TV Booster
After reveling in the MOT and habitation check going so well I think I might have a problem with the TV booster in.our Rienza. Whilst away in Norfolk this week the TV picture lost a couple of channels like it did last year at Filey. Now we are home I found the red LED on the booster is not lit. I unpluged the coax cables, no different. There is power to it.
I assume the booster is faulty and requires a replacement. There is no model number on the old one, it just says vision plus. Also I am not sure what aerial is fitted. It is a flat one that extends out of the roof and can be tilted.
The replacements have model numbers from two to four after that there are lots of technical bits about matching aerials and signals. Updating to any thing fancy with my 9" TV is a waste.

Re: TV Booster
The status that tilts is the 530 or 550 (depends on the mast length). The booster should match the colour of the lettering , red on both booster and aerial or blue on both.

Hi Paul, The writing on the booster is blue so I assume the aerial will be the same. What will replace the booster I have?.

Re: TV Booster
Good question. Visionplus only list ones for use with orange/red lettering . Perhaps an email or phone call should be the way to go. I believe they are very helpful.

Re: TV Booster
According to what I have read so far the blue/purple writing means the booster is in the mast. Our Duetto was 20+ years old, fitted with the space ship dish with a spike and that had a purple lettered booster in the cupboard. I will E-Mail Vision Plus in the morning. Hopefully it wont be a complete mast replacement.

Re: TV Booster
Having a bit more time for sussing and boggling about the booster problems I decided to give the TV another try at home. I can get a reasonable picture without extending the mast or rotating it without the LED being on.
From what other people have said the aerials and boosters with purple writing have the booster in the aerial its self. The box on the wall is a power unit. I have sent an E-Mail to Vision Plus to see what they have to say.

Re: TV Booster
I have now been able to get on the roof of the van to see what aerial is fitted. Why couldnt they put the label on the top. It appears to be a faded red/pink Status 530. This really is odd, the booster should match the aerial yes ?.
I wounder if the van had the same aerial as our Duetto with the spike on top as new. The 530 being fitted as an upgrade. I have a lot of bills for the van but no mention of fitting a different aerial.
This is going to be an interesting challenge to sort out.

Re: TV Booster
I have made some progress regarding the aerial and booster fitted to our Rienza. Firstly I have found a receipt for fitting a Wing Omi Directional aerial . Secondly I have had a chat with Mark from Vision Plus. He was very helpful and cleared up the mix up of Red Aerial Purple booster.
The booster may be left over from the van having a 360 like our Duetto was fitted with. Whoever fitted 530 didnt know the booster and aerial must match. The simple fix to this problem being to fit one of there boosters, VP2>5.
This being the cheaper option I will have a think about this and see what appears the best for my needs. I only need one TV outlet and I am not sure if a signal thingy is worth the extra money. As some one said "Point the Aerial the same way as other campers"
