Hello !
Hi club members, this is my first message as a new member to introduce myself and say hello om behalf of myself and my wife. My name is Alan (but usually just go by 'Al') and my wife is Sue. Having just purchased my first autosleeper (2005 INCA model) I am somewhat exited to "get going" therfore in introducing ourselves we would like to give you our background. We live in Hartlepool North East England (yes ! where they hung the monkey), we are both in our 60s but very active. We have been motorhoming for four years and and absolutely love it, lost count of the sites we have visited.
Our recent purchase (autosleeper INCA) is everything we could want in a motorhome and the 'finishes' are of the highest standard, I did not realise until I read about the autosleeper just how popular they are and the autosleeper club appears to have a very large friendly membership - well done !
My previous motorhome was a fairly old BENIMAR, however a nice vehicle. I was previously a member of the Benimar Onners club and I do find members of the motorhome clubs have a very positive approach and attitude to their respective clubs also making 'guests' feel welcome. The technical advice members pass between each other is excellent (especially for a bit of a novice like me) and can save a lot of "head scratching". I do look forward to being a member of this well respected club and I do look forward (when possible) to meeting fellow members at some of the rally's and making new friends, for now I will just say "keep well all" and enjoy your motorhome g.
Best wishes
Al and Sue

Welcome from N.E Wales. . Please be aware that this forum is not connected with the Owners Club but obviously there will be members of both here. The forum itself does not hold rallies, the Owners Club does.

Re: Hello !
Welcome to the forum. I back up what daisy mae has said over your user name. Can I suggest you reregister with something not giving a direct line to you.
If you want to join ASOC (AutoSleepers Owners Club) which is a rallying club then drop Peter Brown an email or pm from this site.
In the NE there is an active group within the MCC who rally regularly without the need to travel miles.

Re: Hello !
You may have to send a PM to Admin giving your 'new' username and ask him to change it. Not sure whether a moderator can do it but maybe Peter Brown can (staff).al.shield@hotmail.Co. uk wrote:hi all

Don't knock monkey town (no offence intended) spent many hours working and entertaining in the town great folks. Also rallied at Seaton Carew which I recon was the best rally we have ever been on in 32 years of tugging then motorhoming

Re: Hello !
Hi RolI
Thanks for the advice Roli, will try that. Wasn't knocking Hartlepool, it's just a bit of a joke outside of the town as people who have heard the story all call us "monkey hangers", our reply being "yea ! and we have plenty of rope left" !!!

Re: Hello !
It has been mentioned, that ASOC is a rallying club. Whilst it does hold rallies for members, it holds a mass of technical information and hints and tips for those who do not rally on a regular basis. It also has negotiated savings with dealers and other companies on servicing etc

Hi Al & Sue,
A warm welcome from a fellow north easterner.
I'm literally due west of you, (just off Jct.60 of the A1 Motorway) Spent many a Saturday morning at Hartlepool flics back in the 70's, when my parents had a static van overlooking the sea at Crimdon.
Ken.
