I would ask in the "general chat" area although I suspect many are like me and use the "view new posts" link to check every thing anyway. If you post in a totally wrong area a mod will move it.

I wouldn't,  although I'm new here myself so do get it wrong at times. I haven't yet had slapped wrists from a moderator.
