Wildcamp near Coventry?
We have to fit in several things on a trip to the Midlands on a tight schedule; we need to be in Leicester at about 19.00 till 21.00, then at a venue in Coventry the next morning for 10.00am. We don't want the hassle of trying to book in late at night, so if anyone knows of any wildcamps/pubstops/whatever, preferably nearer Coventry than Leicester we'd be grateful to hear of them, thanks

I would personally not contemplate overnighting at the Toby Carvery, Stonebridge Nr M42. The layby's which surround the pub are renowned locally as 'dogging' and 'cruising' sites and attract some rather unsavoury elements. There are also anecdotal reports of people being mugged while sitting in their vehicles. I hasten to add the above is not from personal experience but I do live only a couple of miles away.

I would find a pub in the area you want to stay and ring them up. If you make it clear that you will have a pub supper I would expect most landlords to let you stay the night - assuming they have a suitable car park.
If they say "No" you have lost nothing, and the next one will probably be more amenable.
