Symphony on a FIAT chassis?
Was just browsing eBay and found item 110778995896 which is a 51 reg Symphony on a FIAT Ducato base vehicle.
My curiosity was raised as I thought AS only used Peugeot brand Sevel vehicles?

I suppose over the years if supply was bad the odd ducatto or relay might have slipped though. I have seen the odd Autocruise on a Fiat as well

I did wonder if the AS conversion had been re-bodied onto the FIAT, particularly as the Symphony name as missing from the door.... Now that would be a major job!

It would appear it's had a hard life - new water pump, new blown air heater and new toilet cassette already! There was one on Ebay some months ago where it was described as a Fiat but you could easily see the Peugeot badges. I queried this with the seller as I was suspicious that it was not genuine and got no reply.

The other option is - it could be home build. Many years ago we were camping in France and there was a big merc pv parked next to and after a bit of a chat he said our vans were closely related. He opened the side door and it had been fully fitted with AS seating units floor/wall coverings the lot !!!! (he lived in the Cotswolds - say no more!)He could have bought this lot from the old club and company rally I may add

Well, yes, it's not a bad idea to get a written-off van and transfer all the interior. However I never saw that much stuff for sale at the C&C Rally! The odd light fitting and roll of tape perhaps?
The only other 'spot the difference' points (this is getting a bit anorak!) are the choice of colour of the coachlines top and bottom and the stripe on the side of the hi-top. These may be standard but I don't recognise them. However, in addition to the lack of Symphony name, the cills do not have the characteristic line of black stone chip paint. Other than that, and the FIAT badge, it looks complete to me.

Not an automatic is it? only you can't get an auto on a Peugot, unless you choose auto clutch, like myself.

Hi,
The water heater cowl looks to be from an early model and I would have thought that year should have been post face lift?
Chris.

Symphony on A FIAT
Probably a Marquis dealer model as I believe they had original Sussex and Dorsets on FIATs .

I spotted that one as well. You could 'ask the seller a question' and ask for the build number from inside the glovebox.

I've just sent a couple of questions. It claims to be for sale at a 4X4 garage in Cheshire.

It is a genuine garage in Ellesmere Port but not listed for sale on their website.

However looking at the pictures it looks just like my 98 Symphony.
