I don`t think it is an AS van, quality is lacking for a start and the design, well!!! graphics are not cosha either

Re: Auto-sleeper?
As before, it obviously isn't an Auto-Sleeper, but does it matter if it's what the buyer wants at a price he / she is willing to pay? I believe the term is caveat emptor. It's up to buyers to do their research. If you were in the market for a Rolls Royce, would you be fobbed off by a Ford Granada with a Spirit of Ecstasy on the bonnet?
EDIT: the fittings look like they are from a Holdsworth - every bit as good as an A.S.

Nice low mileage example though... I especially like the electrical installation and the very subtle built-in aerial...

My concern is that a buyer may think it is an AS, then join this forum and ask questions that we won't be able to help with. I know it's no different to any vacuum cleaner being called a Hoover.

If it is advertise as a AS and it isn`t surely that isn`t right?, we know our AS many don`t so on that basis it isn`t on.

Re: Auto-sleeper?
Looks to my untrained eye like a self-build using the stripped out interior from a caravan. Might be a well done one compared to some I've seen, but with self-builds for sale I'd worry about who installed the electrics and gas & was it done to proper safety standards or just amateur bodge? Anyway I agree with daisy mai, some newbies to motorvans might not know the difference and might think it's a genuine AS product - that amounts almost to it being a pirated product (although the Autosleeper name is nothing like the genuine AS style). Now you can put whatever name etc you want on a van for your own use, but if you try and pass it off when selling as something it isn't....

Re: Auto-sleeper?
It's a home build with pretty graphics on what appears to be a LWB chassis (not easy to tell from the photo) and post Mk5 A/S only used MWB Ford.
It was obviously a commercial panel van before converting and if the stated mileage is correct the owner will be lucky to get that price. However it appears to be in good nick so may have been resprayed and the conversion is not bad though the cooker is a bit sad looking! i've seen much better 'home builds' than this.

Re: Auto-sleeper?
I would not have been any the wiser as the wood and delightful upholstery look authentic to me who knows very little. I would have been furious to have found out that it was a 'mongrol' van after purchase.daisy mae wrote:If it is advertise as a AS and it isn`t surely that isn`t right?, we know our AS many don`t so on that basis it isn`t on.
