We are new members having purchased an 2003 model T4 A/S Trident after owning a 1979 VW Type 2 Devon Moonraker for around 25 years. To say we are delighted with the van is something of an understatement, Since acquiring it, we have toured throughout the UK, Republic of Ireland and ventured across the channel to France and Belgium. It is a delight to own and drive. What it lacks in "retro appeal" is more than makes up for with comfort, ease of driving and all round performance.
We have fitted a few "toys" to the vehicle since we have had it including a cycle rack, a roll-out Fiamma canopy, a CD auto changer, cruise control and side and front impact bars; all of which add to the pleasure of owning and using the van. If we had any criticism of the vehicle it would be about of the quality of the upholstery. There was more wear than I would have considered acceptable on the driver and passenger seats but I appreciate this might have as much to do with a previous owner as it does to the quality of Auto-Sleepers' workmanship. We did have the van reupholstered and what a difference that made. If anyone is considering taking similar steps I can recommend Regal Furnishings in Ilkeston, Derbys. Please get in touch if anyone requires further info on contact details, cost etc.
My wife and I are both retired civil servants (not Inland Revenue....!) and. although health problems have meant we have not used the van as much as we would have liked this year, we certainly intend to put that right in 2012.
Best wishes to all members of the ASOF.

Re: NEW MEMBERS
Hi Mike and Liz and welcome to the Forum from a fellow Trident owner- We love ours aswell.
It's a coincidence but our best friends have just sold their Devon Moonraker and almost bought a Trident but in the end went for a VW T5 California. Cos theirs is so modern they look on ours now as becoming a bit "retro".
It must have been abuse by the previous owners regarding the upholstery as ours is still in fantastic condition - Mind you woe betide anyone who muckies it.
Cheers
