Hiya,

Always wanted a camper van.  I have been camping and caravanning over the years which I enjoyed but to have a camper van and the freedom that comes with it will be awesome.

Went to Southport last weekend for my first trial and broke my awning trying to collapse it and put it away! Had a fabulous weekend though and took my mum and youngest son with me.

You are learning fast - it certainly is. allthumbz

That's the single biggest appeal to many, if not most of us. The freedom to stop or drive on, to stay for one day or as many as we like, to have a nap in the afternoon with a good book (that appeals to we geriatrics! read ) to chase the sun if the weather is foul . . . . . etc..

Wait until you go to France in it. That really is motorhome freedom.

Dave smile!

Have to agree, we still have our caravan and I dont want to take an awning when we use it BUT SWMBO always gets her way and we do shrugg

I love having the awning just broke it though! I need to buy one that I can just put up myself as my mum and youngest son are not really able to help!  Ive started looking for one that isnt too costly.  Then it will be time to go touring again I think.  up!

Welcome to the forum and keep us updated with the awning thingy.  I purchased the dome variety last year but found I could not put it up by myself, split a pole trying and will make a financial loss when I try to sell it  shrugg

Not to be defeated, I am now exploring the tunnel variety as the airbeam ones are outside my budget (and lifting capabilities!) but interested to hear how others overcome these obstacles.

Happy motorhoming.
