Gas in a Symphony Empty Gas in a Symphony

I'm back, with two questions this time!

1. Our van has one 6kg Propane bottle, but can equally house two 3.9kg Propane bottles, which makes more sense to us - if one bottle runs out you replace it - hence never run out completely. The question is this - looking at Calors website it refers to Rec Offtake of 7.5kw for the 3.9 bottles and 11.5 kw for the 6kg bottle. Does this mean the smaller ones may struggle to deliver enough gas to run the heating and hob/grill at the same time?

2. is propane better than butane?

Thanks

Our Symphony could take one 6kg and one 3.9kg. Butane won't vapourise below 6degree C therefore if you want to use through winter you need propane.

Yeah I thought about that but if the 6kg runs out it wont fit in the back of the gas locker for storage its too tall. I just thought it might be awkward especially if ewe were moving from place to place.
Incidentally thanks for your help with the tyres. i ordered a pair from tyre shopper and got a really good deal.

You shouldn't have to switch the cylinders around, just swop the regulator to the rear bottle.

Maybe I'm lucky but I can JUST jam a 6kg bottle in the back of the gas locker on our 2001 Symbol. First time it took half an hour to work out the only orientation of the handle bit on the top but it's now very easy. We are on the road right now with two 6kg bottles on board. Make sure the first bottle is right back as far as it will go otherwise the second bottle won't go in. The second bottle also will only go in with the handle orientation exactly right. Calor Lite 6kg bottles are too tall so this only works for me with the standard bottles.

I think all your questions have been answered bar one.  I would guess that 7.5KW max draw from the 3.9 bottle is more than a typical heater and grill would require. 7.5 KW is a lot of energy ! The only caveat is to consider the reduced output in extremely cold weather.
