Hello
Hi,
Having recently retired, my wife and I recently purchased our first motorhome, a 1995 Duetto.
We weren't planning to buy one until next year but, to get a feel of the market, I had set up a saved search on eBay. The Duetto came up and ticked most of our boxes. As it was located not too far from our home in Nottingham. We arranged to go and see it and found it ideal for our purposes, well maintained and in our price range. A few days later we had bought it.
We have spent the last few weeks sprucing it up and taking it on a couple of short trips to get used to driving it and eating and sleeping in it.
We have joined the Caravan Club and spent our first couple of nights in the van on their excellent site at Chatsworth. This had the advantage of being close to where the previous owner lived so we arranged a dinner with them and were able to sort out any outstanding questions and problems that we had.
Our intention is to use the van to realise our ambition of circumnavigating the coastline of mainland UK. We will be doing this in "bite size chunks" over the next few years. We currently aim to use Caravan Club CLs as our main source of stopovers.
Unlike me, the Duetto is quite small but, based on our experiences so far we are sure that "Dave" (the previous owner's name for the van) will serve us well.

Welcome
Hi eddytheeagle & Wife .
Welcome to the forum from Mansfield. Good plan the coastal trip around Great Britain. I am also doing it in small chunks, Only got the west coast of Scotland left to do. Probably takes as long as the rest of the country. Still great times to be had with an AS.

Thanks for the responses
Hi,
Thanks for all the welcome messages from everyone. Some have mentioned that they want to, or are doing, a UK (or, more properly, GB) circumnavigation. I will be, hopefully, kicking off a discussion in the General Chat Forum shortly.
Thanks again
