Push button lock on wardrobe
I'm not a big fan of push button locks especially on wardrobe doors which are used frequently. I've had to swap the one on the wardrobe for one on the door under the seat but it's on it's way out also.
Has anyone found a more robust version than the type used by Autosleeper or maybe even an alternative type of lock to replace it ?
Any thoughts ?
Regards, John

If you are talking about the big chrome buttons with the grey plastic catch behind, yes I am constantly moving them about my van! Would be good to find and alterative. I always carry some spare catches.

Yes, that's the one.
Where did you source the replacements ?

Loads on EBay. Personally I've never had much trouble with them.

Yes, Alan Osbourne sent us a few last year... we only needed one, but had several as the cost of postage was the same, and you never know when you'll need a spare. Very quick service from a very helpful man!

Re: Push button lock on wardrobe
I have had 5 of them give up since we bought the van. When the first one went, we were in France so no chance of getting a replacement.
So, I took it apart and liberally lubricated it with synthetic ( clear) grease and it worked as good as new again. I did the same to the others too. The originals had no lubricant in them at all, and I guess thats why they seize up.
We have another on the way out, ( actually the wardrobe one now) I will treat it the same as the others and expect it too will work as good as new again..

Interesting.....I sprayed one with silicone and it works better now.....still sticks sometimes but better than it was.....

I tried that first, but had to take it apart and grease all the mating surfaces liberally with grease. I suppose petroleum jelly ( vaseline) would work for a while too.

Marquis are changing mine under warranty on Monday! They had to order the new one from A-S and want the old one back to send to A-S. Amazing they don't have a bucket-load in stock, given how many must have failed.

Re: Push button lock on wardrobe
I suppose if they are designed to be used for 2 or 3 weeks a year, that would last a long time.

Re: Push button lock on wardrobe
I fitted the replacement supplied by Marquis today and noticed that the similar-looking catch on the electrical control panel under the bed is a different size!
This means that all measurements should be checked before buying from, for example, e-bay.
