Lincoln Show 25/09/15 to27/09/15
Anybody heading to the Lincoln show this year, we haven't been for 3 years, properly look for a campsite away from the showground itself, any recommendations?
I will be taking my BBQ and steaks, so hope the weather is good.

We're going. Will be in C&CC section. We actually have the full week off before the show (as long as I don't get a hospital appointment that I've been waiting for) and may go the C&CC temporary holiday site at Market Raisen racecourse before the show.

Hi Paul
I take it the Market Raisen site has all the usual W/Cs showers etc? Providing we have the van repaired in time we will properly head down on Friday.

We're planning to be there, but will be day-tripping by car as it's only 40 miles away.

We have booked into Clumber park for Friday and Saturday and attending the show via the public car park on Saturday, so if you see a grotty old Sigma loaded like a prospectors donkey, chap the door and if we're in , a brew awaits you.
We are coming down direct from Whitby, fingers crossed the van has been sorted by then ?

Same as Mike, too late for C&CC. We are on the showground with ASOC section from Thurs-Mon. Look out for the gold coloured Kemerton.

We should be going to the show this year, day only unfortunately. We have plans for the rest of the weekend and its only 45 mins traveling for us. Probly take the van if only to use as a base for lunch. Our van has the Forum stickers on the side window and back door . All callers welcome to a brew about lunch time.

Hope to see some of you over the weekend, had to scrub round Clumber park due to the dog sickness problems in the area. So we are heading for the Milestone (a/f) site tomorrow .
Looks like the weather is in our favour.

Crackin day on Saturday, spent a fortune, new sat/nav (snooper) new Avtex TV and some other odds and sods.
Sorry we missed you Paul, I see your there this morning, we had a wonderful display from a WWII Spitfire and Hurricane low flying over the show around lunch time, what a treat.
Maybe see you next year .

I downloaded the ASOF logo and made a 3" badge and wore it all day Saturday so any member might say hello but no takers.

I was parked in the second row of motorhomes with a make shiftASOF badge in the window and walked the dog all around the vans, I saw a 03 Nuevo , but missed yours.
Had a quick hour in the show and returned when the fly past was taking place, that's when I met Barry with a 08 Sigma, chatted with him for a while until the wife came back loaded up with TVs etc.
Hope you had a nice time, sitting in Mc Arthur's glen retail outlet York, before we set off for Bridlington .
Take care ,have a safe trip back to Wales

We were about 50yds from the clock tower. We were in the food court during the flypast.
We need to pre-arrange meetings at these shows or we'll never meet unless we have our own camp area.

Back home in Bridlington and debugging the front of the van, nice and sunny after a foggy start this morningPaulmold wrote:We were about 50yds from the clock tower. We were in the food court during the flypast.

Re: Lincoln Show 25/09/15 to27/09/15
We weren't day visitors we were parked in C&CC area.
Wife actually wanted me to spend money but I'm too tight. I did think the show was good apart from the Sunday carvery in the Epic centre, queued for exactly an hour to be served by which time they had run out of all carvery joints, only offering pie or veggy cannelloni with still an hour serving to go. Happens there every year, caterers (CGC event caterers) obviously have no idea what they sell each year and claim to be able to cater for events of up to 5000 people.
Quite a lot of AS's for sale including 3 Stratfords, a Warwick Duo (wifes favourite), a Warwick XL, Gloucester, Pollensa, Symbols old and not so old, Dorset, loads more.
Several regular stalls missing but overall a good show.

Ah! That's why I couldn't find your van, agree with you, plenty to see and purchase .
I leave the buying to the wife, she's a jock fee Glasga, so what she wants , she gets.
Have a nice week, we might go up to Filey for the day, tomorrow and take advantage of the good weather.
See you later.
