Hello
Hello
I am looking at buying a 1990 VW Trident Automatic petrol engine water cooled, 198,000 miles some rust wheel arches. Prudence has just had mot . Owner took me for a drive and was quiet and comfortable. I have had vans many years ago but just seeing what I did to look out or any comments most welcome as I would have to sell my car to purchase. Thank you in advance Jacqui

Re: Hello
All I can say is look for the rust, especially round windscreen, not easy to treat, also underneath, the first I had looked at was a trophy 1995, looked to me more like a 1991 as the interior didn`t match up to the age, it was rotten through and through, seller wanted £8,000 , it would have been a money pit and too much to take on,
I also sold my Volvo Estate to help fund it, as it had to be my every day vehicle as well, my first was a Topaz, same build and a VW, I love the VW engines and wouldn`t consider any other. VW do hold their price but they go on and on and are reliable. Auto-sleepers in my view are the best, and VW and AS combined are the tops. jmho.
Good luck, other members will give you help and advice soon.
Regards,
Margaret
