Broadway fridge veg drawer
We have a 2014 Broadway EK LP TB which, because the fridge is over the wheel arch, has a small V shaped veg drawer designed to pivot on a couple of pegs on either side of the fridge.
I find this very unsatisfactory: the wretched thing comes out of the pegs every time I take something out, veg gets stuck in the narrow " gutter " at the bottom, the teay won' t open all the way without actually falling out altogether and, finally, because the plastic is not very strong, the centre front of the drawer has cracked and had to be glued and gaffer taped together to give it enough strength to be pulled forward to get veg out.
Is it just me ? Has anyone found the same thing or found an alternative or a fix ?

No, it isn't just you!
Haven't used ours in anger yet, but the swine has fallen off the pegs twice already.
While we are having a gripe, what about the flimsy bit of plastic which holds the door open an inch or so to prevent mould when not in use. Nudge the door once and it will be busted!!

We don't use the door catch as we tend to leave the door wide open when not using it.
What I do do ( or did: not again) is put a bit of non-stick mat in the door of the freezer compartment to stop that closing fully when we get home and the fridge is defrosting.
This trip we managed 6 days without noticing that the freezer door is open and so now it is all iced up.
It took us a week and a phone call to AS to work out where the fridge light is ! Very good at night but impossible to see in bright sunshine.

Re: Broadway fridge veg drawer
These fridges are awful we only had our van a couple of weeks when the catch that holds the door shut in transit broke. Before we left from home to go to France we discovered that the water pump did not work and the fridge would not work on gas. Our Broadway is only two years old. Problem was we could not get van booked in anywhere for repair. Three months was quoted. We managed to replace stupid in tank water pump ourselves and discovered that the jubilee clip used to hold hose to tank was rusty. A stainless steel clip was not used. When we arrived in France a local MH dealer immediately ordered the part needed for the fridge and it is being repaired tomorrow....he is also doing the job under the warrantee.

Sorry, I meant the jubilee clip used to attach hose to pump was rusty...not good in our fresh water tank. We have a jubilee clip on the pump in our fish pond which has been there for over twenty years - no rust 'cos it's stainless steel. What are autosleeper thinking of; this sort of jubilee clip should not even be in their work shops.

On another thread, it was rightly stated that Thetford should stick to WCs! Their fridges and cookers are not of the quality that AutoSleepers should install. As was there pointed out, it's all an attempt to shave costs: I was told when ordering an additional shelf for the oven that the reason it came with only one shelf was because AS had specified the minimum.
After 2 months' ownership I've already bent that flimsy fridge-opening stay; the Hartal door stay is the subject of another thread (with every justification); and the cable into the bottom of the Hartal has already flexed so as to expose bare wire.... And we've only spent 3 nights in the brand new motorhome!
Would a Hymer have been better??
