Good Afternoon Campers
Having just swapped our Warwick Duo for the van we have fancied for 4 years - an Executive Anniversary I'm re-registering as a recycled member, just like I am a recycled teenager.
First trip to Peterborough next weekend and hope to park in the disabled camping area so come say hello if you fancy a natter - conducted tours available by appointment with SWMBO.

Many Thanks - we will - trips to Kirkenhof and further afield already planned for this year and maybe Norway again to try to see the Northern Lights later.

Would it not have been easier to have asked Admin to change your name rather than have two accounts (not sure thats actually allowed) as that distorts member numbers. What happens to the old name of Mr Warwick Duo?

Re: Good Afternoon Campers
I scoured this often not very easy to follow site and did not come across any reference to being able to change a name so rather than disturb the administrators from their slumbers it seemed logical to simply delete the old profile and start again.
Is that action so very wrong that it is now worthy of you grumbling, because if so I do have to reluctantly admit to not being perfect?
But don't let the wife know I said that please!

Didn't mean to grumble. Didn't know you could delete a profile and when I last checked your old name was still listed. Not going to Peterborough this year so won't be able to meet you.

No problem Paul.
I've just checked and that profile is no more! It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet it's maker! Bereft of existence, it rests in peace! It's metabolic processes are now 'istory! It's kicked the bucket, shuffled off it's mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bloomin' choir invisible!!
That is an ex-profile!!

Hi Ricky, welcome back . We are going to Peterborough but sadly missed the deadline to be with ASOC as Carol had a knee op last week and didn't know how well she would do. So, we will be camping in the 'general' area. Hope to see you there.

Re: Good Afternoon Campers
Thanks for the welcome, although I was only gone for 10 minutes!
We had been watching various websites, particularly Auto Trader, for the best part of a year and this one appeared with a link to the dealer's website when my wife spotted it one afternoon in March.
Within half an hour a deal had been wrangled and we paid a deposit by phone to hold it pending mutual inspections of vans, then drove to the dealer the next day to confirm.
It seems it had only been on the website two hours and we were the fifth enquiry but the first to put our money where our hopes were!
I've carried out several minor mods and 'improvements' to make it easier to live with and Peterborough will be the first real life try out and by the time we get home I expect there will be other mods to carry out as ever!

Hi Jaytee, we'll keep an eye open for you with your lovely Winchcombe, but the general area covers a lot of ground and we don't walk so far as we used to, but if you do spot us in the old farts area please do come say hello.Jaytee wrote:Hi Ricky, welcome back . When we bought our '95 Exec there was a 2006 on Auto Trader and ebay.

If I'm honest I would have preferred one of the last on the X244 Boxer but I do like my cab air con especially when we head South and to retro fit a dubious after market air con is flippin expensive - but not as expensive as a 2011 model - but they too are as rare as hens teeth!
At least you have the satisfaction of knowing you have one of the best and most durable Execs ever made with minimal if any depreciation as to me at least the modern build quality, whilst still well ahead of many others, does not seem to be quite as solid as in years gone?
