Hi there
Hi there - just a little bit about Nellie and me
Had my lovely Nellie for 2 years - been my dream to have a VW Camper forever so decided to my retirement lump sum would just cover it. First saw Nellie 3 years ago for sale at my village garage but sold before I could enquire but one look was enough to decide VW AS T4 4 birth perfect camper for me but too scared to buy over internet and so few about I was about to abandon the dream
One year later 10 miles from home I spotted a VW AS T4 for sale in a layby - imagine how I felt on recognising her as the one Id missed so wasted no time and she was all mine within a few days
I then learned she had lived in my village and had a 15 year service history with the very same village garage! Clearly I believe in fate but this is just incredible!!
I know she's an old lady now [21 again!] but I hope to do her up as much as I can and keep her as original as possible with the help of my lovely village garage who are glad she has come home too - I'm so lucky to have her. Still has original blue curtains which I'm planning replace with same fabric!
I go up to Lakes a lot walking [with AW for company] and so far trips to Whitby across the Dales and camped in the forest in Snowdonia - its amazing how many places you can visit and camp free and the freedom to be free is just fantastic!
Also had a fab 2 week trip with bikes to Cornwall via Cheddar Gorge, Eden, Wells on to Sennen Cove and Lands End enjoying the beautiful coastal paths and secluded beaches and gorgeous pubs. Most nights were wild camping with a few welcoming stops at C&C sites here and there. Yep I joined and glad I did. It was the best holiday despite one breakdown and night spent holed up at the VW garage forecourt at Weston SM [drive shaft came loose!!!] - was so proud that I counted it as part of this big adventure!
Ta for having me and ta for listening - looking forward to reading your stories next.
PS new to forums too
