An introduction & question Empty An introduction & question

Post by VERNON SMALLWOOD Wed Sep 14, 2011 10:47 pm

Hi I'm Vernon Smallwood recently bought the Peugeot Boxer LWB Warwick Duo 18 month old with 6,700 on the clock so I'm in the process of finding my way around the mechanics etc

Can anyone let me know if there is an easier way to check the leisure battery cell levels etc without taking the front seat off.
Even sliding the seat forward leaves little room to remove the metal strap which crosses all the filler caps and get to top up or get a Hygrometer in there.

Welcome from Paul and Carol from not too far away in Mold. Don't know anything about a Warwick I'm sorry to say apart from wanting one. handshake

Hi, the problem lies with all the vans not just the X250. On Boxers the seat runners had 2 little press outs in the profile. If the seats were removed (to save sparks near the battery) these lugs could be filed or ground off so the seat would slide further forward and resolve the problem.
If you think you have a problem have a look at a Mk7 Transit, two batteries under the drivers seat undecided

Hi Vernon

Welcome to the forum.

I don’t know about your problem as the Symbol has its habitation battery in a different location which is easy to reach. The electrolyte level may possibly need topping up if my own vehicle is anything to go by. I guess the answer is to eventually replace it with a sealed type (eg AGM) which does not require topping up.
