Re: At the SECC Show Glasgow
Well we went to the show at the NEC in Glasgow yesterday as we have been thinking of changing our van. However, after looking at many vans and the prices we decided a couple of things our van feels sturdier than the ones we saw and our current van works well for us.So our 1997 Auto Sleeper VW GL Clubman automatic has earned a reprieve she has only covered 20,000 miles from new so is barely run in so I will treat her to a few accessories and continue to enjoy touring in her.

Very wise!
We think the same about out Topaz.
Though the Wingamn was nice and they are thinking about producing a twin bed model rhd.
Perhaps we might see you down here for our ASOC rally in August??
frederic
ps in what part of Scotland are you located?

Frederic. I am in Stirling I would be interested in the details of the ASOC rally in August. I like the Topaz and being built on the VW platform I dont think you can go far wrong.

Re: At the SECC Show Glasgow
We had similar thoughts Shuggie - although the Clubman is getting long in the tooth, the materials and finish are far better than the majority of the motorhomes at the Show today. The fashion for weight saving lowers the quality IMO.
We were impressed by the quality of the plethora of rising roof and high top VW/Hyundai/Ford van conversions
I too liked the Wigamm, although the finish wasn't a patch on the Clubman. The drop down bed was a plus point though
We were disappointed AS didn't have the 2 Mercedes vans open for viewing - "sold" signs on them both on day 2 of the Show. To be fair, the sign stated that you could ask a sales person to show you around but they were pretty busy today. To me a Show should be as it says.........
