Mud Flaps Empty Mud Flaps

Post by Janwood Fri Jan 02, 2015 6:37 pm

Hi, I'm looking to buy a set of rear mud flaps for a 1985 Duetto, can anyone advise the best place to look.  When I purchased some a while ago (for a Bedford CF motorhome) we found a company in South Wales, near Newport, but cannot find the same company on the net.  We did purchase some from an Irish company but they were extremely poor and thin and wouldn't have lasted five minutes.  Thanking you in anticipation  Brian Wood.

Hi Caz and Paul,   Yes we did get the sink to fit, with a little bit of adjustment and help, it's still working well,  thank you very much.  Is yours a new colour scheme?  Best wishes for 2015.  Janet and Brian.

I had genuine Ford original ones on my Mk5 Transit from new and, IMO, you are better off without them. They are quite difficult to fit in a way that doesn't leave gaps where road grit can accumulate.

This was one of the places where rust started to take hold on mine, and it then spread extensively under the paintwork (which on a Mk5 is not that great at stopping it). I took them off when I had the rusted bodywork cut out and replaced, and never put them back on again (I sold them on Ebay instead for what I thought was a small fortune!).

BTW, I don't think the Transit Connect ones will fit...

Thank you everyone for your advice, we seem to have found a dealer that supplies for our age of vehicle, keeping fingers crossed.  Brian Wood.
