Gloucester Front Cab Carpet
On my Gloucester, and probably other models AS have fitted the Sargent control box behing the driver's seat on top of the carpet and fixed through. Antbody know what gets disturbed when you remove the fixings so that the carpet can be removed for proper cleaning?

Re: Gloucester Front Cab Carpet
Do you mean the main power unit (as opposed to the control panel)? What model do you have? If it's an EC325 or 328 then all of the connections exit downwards via multi-pin connectors at the rear of the bottom edge. So provided A-S have left enough slack on the cables it should just lift upward a little and then tilt forward. If you decide to do this, lift carefully because if there is ~not~ enough slack on the cables and any of the connectors pull out they will be very hard to put back.
It's not hard to unplug the whole thing - all of the connectors are keyed so you can't put them back in the wrong place, but obviously you need to disconnect mains and power from both/all 12V batteries before you do that!

Its the EM50. Just remove the screws and slide the carpet out underneath, there is plenty of slack on the wire connections to it.PLOUGHLIN wrote:On my Gloucester, and probably other models AS have fitted the Sargent control box behing the driver's seat on top of the carpet and fixed through. Thanks Peter and Mojo. Good to know I'm not likely to disturb the EM50.
