VW LT35 chassis models
Hi All,
I was on a site at Broadway last year and saw an Autosleeper based on a VW LT35 5 cylinder diesel chassis/engine combination. Anyone any idea what model it would have been and how many berths it is likely to be. I think it had a central lounge which had 3 point seatbelts for the other occupants. My kids will soon outgrow my hitop trident and I am looking at the alternatives which still have VW units.
many thanks

Hi and thanks for getting back to me.
Not sure about this though, as I have seen 2 berth medallions for sale and this was definitely a 4. Did they make a 2 and a 4 berth model? I thought Autosleeper tended to change the name for the different berthed models. Did the Pollensa ever come on a VW chassis?
many thanks

Hi Chris
Pretty sure the Pollensa only came on the Peugeot / Ford chassis, just did a quick search and founds this Medalion at Todds motorhomes where the specification states 4 berths http://www.toddsmotorhomes.co.uk/online_shop/volkswagen/auto-sleeper_volkswagen_medallion_.asp?VM=Specifications
roli is the one to tell you... he seems to know a lot about all the different models and I'm sure he will advise you if he sees this post

That one at Todds is definitely a 4 berth, if you click on floor plan it states large overhead storage or double bed plus 2 singles or a double in the lounge.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for that, it looks the sort of thing I am after. Just got check now that this variety has the necessary seatbelts in the back for the kids.
best wishes,
chris

Re: VW LT35 chassis models
The Medalion was a big brother to the Talisman, although I have seen one with Executive style layout.
It was made on both the VW and Merc Chassis (same anyway) A very spacious van and as you have discovered like the smaller relations was offered as either 2 or 4 berth (tounge in cheek as the moncoque lutons dont offer much space even in this larger van).
I am told not many were made but they all seem to be in circulation as there are a few ASOC members with them, two of which rally regularly 1 is a Merc the other a VW.
CC has already said the Pollensa wasnt produced on a VW chassis

VW LT 35 Autosleeper Medallion
Hi Chris,
I may be a bit late in replying to you but we have the VW LT35 AS Medalliion - 4 berth. We have grandchildren who sleep up in the 'storage/bed' above the cab. I can also sleep up there - aged 63 and 5' 2". The 2 single seats in the cab both have seat belts - the long seat behind the driver does not have seat belts. Good Luck.
