Blocked drain neuvo es
Can anyone recommend a drain unblocking product which is safe to use in the plastic basin in our Nuevo bathroom?
Failing that, how do I remove the cover to the basin outlet (which is on the other side of the hinged shower compartment at the back of the basin) in order to access and dismantle the u bend?
Thanks!

At home I use "Mr Muscle Sink and Drain Unblocker" in our plastic shower tray at home when needed and it does the job, can't think of a reason why it couldn't be used in a plastic basin. Perhaps more experienced motorcaravanners can suggest something better? Good luck!

Sorry can't help with dismantling the sink on the Nuevo as we have a Pollensa.
However, just some general advice which I learned after our previous (non-Autosleeper) motorhome with a tip-up sink and very small diameter outlet blocked. I discovered that the worst thing was to use normal 'cake' soap bars. By always using liquid soaps thereafter the problem never recurred.
Hope this helps, if it's not already your habit.

Hi Bertie Bus
At the rear of the swing wall there is a cover. Just remove the white plastic screw caps and then remove the 4 screws. This will give you access to the underneath of the bowl. If you pull off the plastic waste flexible pipe you can then pour some water down the pipe to unblock it.
Alternatively a method I have used when I caravan need was to put a hose pipe directly into the sink plug hole with a cloth around it to stop splashing and this used to work fine and clear all the old grunge out.

Thanks for your messages.
Yes, we already use liquid soap, but the previous owner may not have!
I've seen the plastic screw covers but haven't dared prise them off....the ones on the habitation door cracked and broke when I had to get at a stuck latch!
I've bought some bathroom plug unblocker...so hopefully won't have to resort to attacking the shower panel
Watch this space!!

Don't worry Bertie, they are just ordinary white screw covers normally held on with a dab of silicon.
Having said that........I can't see what taking them off will do 'cos there ain't no 'u' bend, just a length of convoluted pipe disappearing down to the bottom of the door hinge.
I would recommend boiling water - assuming the pipe isn't completely blocked.

That's a relief...no point risking cracking the screw covers then!
But no wonder the drains sometimes stink if there are no u bends, another silly design fault?
Boiling water's going down tomorrow, after the drain unblocker's been down all night doing its stuff..
then I reckon its the hosepipe treatment if that hasn't worked.
Thanks for all the suggestions

Well the Buster Plughole Unblocker left all night, then washed down with loads of boiling water this morning, seems to have done the trick!
Bertie's drain now gurgles contentedly as the water actually spirals down the plughole.

Well done! In my opinion it's always best to try the simplest solution first.
