Hi from Abingdon, Oxon
Hiya All
I've never joined a forum before, I'm quite excited by it all. I am the proud owner of a 1988 Autosleeper Legend GL on a Transit base (is there any other?)
Anyway here goes, myself and my wife Julia inherited the camper from her Father-in-Law. He had been ill for the last three years and since my mother in law died was using the van less and less as rallying wasn't the same. He was unable to use it at all because of a bad hip and other general bad health so donated it to us. I had a lengthy tour round the beast whilst he was still alive I learned a bit about the internal workings but unfortunately he died last November so I've lost my source of expert knowledge. I've been out a few times mostly by myself, for overnights, music festivals, cycling weekends at campsites that kind of thing. I'm trying to "fettle her up" to get my wife more keen on coming out with me on these trips, she's a bit worried about carbon monox, gas leaks etc so I'm having a habitation check next Mon. I really fancy a bit of wild camping (ie not on a proper serviced pitch but I want to found out whether everything will work under these conditions.
You never come to a forum without bringing your motorhome baggage problems to share with the other members, Watch this space!
Cheers Martin and Julia

Re: Hi from Abingdon, Oxon
You are wise to have a habitation service done then you have a baseline to work from.
If Julia is concerned over carbon monoxide I would suggest a CO alarm/monitor, we have one for peace of mind. Its not often though we leave the fire on overnight on gas.
Enjoy your motorhome from another Tranny owner

Hi, and welcome to the forum, from another legend- on-a-tranny base, though I think our 2000 is a different one from yours? Here's hoping Julia takes to camping! I would agree with Roli's suggestion re the carbon monoxide alarm. Enjoy your new toy and the forum, which is both interesting and useful!
