Is anyone going to Latitude?
Hi, just wondered if anyone from the Forums are going to Latitude? It will be our 2nd trip out in our Pollensa and it would be fun to meet anyone from the Forums if they are going. We will be in the Family motorhome field.

For those that don't know Latitude is festival of music, comedy, theatre and much more. It started yesterday and runs till Sunday in Southwold, Suffolk. A bit of a Glastonbury type event for a slightly more mature audience (more radio 2 than radio 1), for full details see www.latitudefestival.com.

It's in Lunnun then; Suffolk being south of The Wash which is where the outskirts of Lunnun start!

WHAT?? It must be a scam!journeyman wrote:2 adults + Motorhome about £450…is that right.
Any motorhome (even + 2 adults) is much too cheap at £450.
Was it on eBay?

Looks like it. Around £500 for same thing at Glastonbury this year. By comparison, our town is holding its first ever 3 day Blues and Soul weekend first weekend August, 2 adults and campervan would set you back £66. Mind you. I've never heard of any of the bands (20 over the weekend) but just because I've never heard of them don't mean they ain't no good.journeyman wrote:2 adults + Motorhome about £450…is that right.

TBH I couldn't be doing with the hassle, queuing for toilets, drunken d***heads and parting with enough cash to make some serious upgrades to the van. Latitude does seem a bit more genteel though!

Latitude
Hi everyone...yes I should have given more details...someone described Latitude to me as the 'middle class' event!
http://www.latitudefestival.com/ - not far from Southwold - up the A12.
It was £195 per adult plus £60 for the motorhome for the whole weekend from Thursday night through to Sunday night with something happening from about 10.00am to gone midnight every day. It was great fun - lots for everyone to do. Because we were on the family campsite area there were even flushing toilets and showers, although we used our motorhome for the showers. Even the general toilets were cleaned regularly and not too bad! The family area was quite far away from the arenas, so whilst the headline acts were quite loud we still got to sleep. Had some amazing thunderstorms so I'm glad we were in the mh and not camping!
Music stages/poetry/literature/comedy/children areas with enchanted woods and crafts and loads more.
Put it this way, I went with my partner and 4 year old boy, my 18 year old niece and her friends went along some, other friends went with their daughter and her grandmother. There was a really good atmosphere and and it was really friendly. My highlights were Chrissie Hynde (ex Pretenders) and Simon Amstell (comedian).
We will definitely go again, but plan our water supply a little better!

Re: Is anyone going to Latitude?
Yep, I think I would need to be part of a family group, otherwise I would just be complaining about the noise/facilities/cost/young people/crowds/rain etc. I can see the attraction of a group trip though, especially with kids.
