Re: Your monthly Mag
At the moment its the Club Mags plus Practical Motorhome.
I fall in and out of love with MMM (and its out at the moment) due to mrs roli winning a prize that wasnt exactly as described in the mag - strings etc, but may sign up again when they put a decent offer on.

The only "magazine" I read regularly is the Greenpeace one and our own club mag Might buy bike mags from time to time but can't find anything of interest in motorhome mags.

Re: Your monthly Mag
These Motorhome mags, nice glossy photo on the front with enticing "get-yer-wallet-out" caption but where is the price? Oh there it is, tucked away in a corner, now I've got my magnifying glass out, £4.25 for most of the info I can get on the web! Ok for a christmas or birthday pressie looking at readers trips abroad or new motorhome reviews, but "top 10 caravan battery vacuum cleaners" (yawn) or "how to retrim a headboard" (snore) or cheesy photos of "meet the award winning dealer" (£ signs coming out of the top of his forehead) and lots of glossy ads offering motorhomes for sale (even more on autotrader online) ...cure for insomnia.
Generally flick through then use to level the greasy spoon caff table with the wobbly leg. £4.25 for all day breakfast. Which is better value?
To be fair when I was thinking of buying I bought the lot and read avidly but now.......? This Forum and other web sites are far better value. Forget the mag and take your tablet like the good doctor says!

Was MMM but I now have a folder bulging with France and other countries tours with associated recommended campsites that don't think I will need another one for a couple of years.

Re: Your monthly Mag
Hi there,
Stopped reading mags when I got the internet!
Asked CC to stop sending their Mags because we are away so much and it piles up on the mat; but was told that this is impossible!
Helen reads OK, Hello etc but only after her sister has bought them out of date at half-price and has already read them; so I can't really complain. (As far as I can make out, reading them is a pointless exercise anyway. I once flicked through a few of them and I swear that there seemed to be nothing new in any of them after the first two!)
One benefit is that whenever I buy Helen a new one as a treat it's as if I have presented her with a solitaire diamond ring!
Best regards,
PS
I did notice that in one of the girly magazines there was a "shock/horror" article that some celebrity female had hair growing in her arm-pits.
In a world full of disease, poverty, famine and war I really don't think that it was terribly important!

Re: Your monthly Mag
I'm with you there Dutto; on the unimportance about hairy arm-pitted celebs.
I'd stop buying any camping mag that had a section about 'Ex Big Brother Contestant ....... goes motor-homing'.
I'll stop now as I might be nicking the thread's original question and don't wish to be rude.

Re: Your monthly Mag
I read all motorhome and camper van mags but on an add hoc basis. Tend to look at the index see if anything interests me then buy or more often don't. Noticed some are now sold in plastic bags cannot get to the index so don't buy. The only mags I get delivered are C&CC in house and the autosleeper club mag.

Re: Your monthly Mag
I subscribe to MMM and Flypast, there is a link honest. I usualy have a look at practical motorhome whilst in the supermarket to see if there if itis worth buying . My late father in law read a whole book in a week without buying it by spending his lunch breaks in a book shop.

Re: Your monthly Mag
I buy MMM every month and practical motorhome occasionally, I get annoyed that there is discounts for subscribers ( I don't want magazines stuck in the letterbox advertising when I am out) trouble with MMM these days are the site reviews/advertisements seems to dominate the magazine but can't seem to give it up, perhaps I need counseling lol.

Re: Your monthly Mag
I used to buy Practical Caravan (when we had a caravan) but found that pretty much the same articles and readers letters appeared a month later in the Caravan Club magazine.
I don't read much of the CC or C&CC magazines anyway because it's nearly all stuff I can't afford and/or don't want.
