Damp warranty
I can't find any reference at all to damp in the warranty document online from AS:
http://www.auto-sleepers.com/uploads/service/Warranty%20Document.pdf
Please can anyone tell me how long the guarantee is on a new AS coachbuilt van ?
Thanks

Re: Damp warranty
Thanks Paul, that's the one I read. It doesn't mention damp anywhere or anything that could be taken to mean damp.

Re: Damp warranty
I assumed that it came within the 2 year part which refers to any faults 'in the conversion'.

Re: Damp warranty
Hi Reading the problems of owners with damp problems ,it might be best to speak direct to AS about your concerns.
The standard warranty is mainly a list of exclusions.
I see any modification could invalid the warranty.
However your rights by law cannot be excluded,ie fit for use etc.
regards
mike

Re: Damp warranty
Thanks all. We haven't actually picked up the new van yet but it surprised us, when we read through the AS warranty document, that there was no specific mention of damp. The trend among other converters is to extend the warrranty for damp so 2 years, as part of the general warranty, does seem rather short. As an example, when we bought the Swift van we have at present, the damp warranty was 6 years. On new Swift vans it is now 10 years.
I note also that the warranty becomes invalid if your van is outside UK for more than 90 days at a stretch.

Re: Damp warranty
In the past a manufacturer only seems to mention leaks if they suffer,
Swift can be explained by an older generation of a model nicknamed Konliki
As far as I know that was their only leaker
Elldis had a problem years ago which they resolved quickly and then were the first if I remember to put 6 years warranty on leaks which gave buyers confidence in the product , since then I have never heard of a leakage problem with any of their vans.
I don't think AS have a problem as yesterday we had some managers from Willersey over here at the ASOC AGM for a q&a session and generally when there is a wide problem it gets aired by the members wanting answers
I didnt hear anything but Peter will correct me if I am wrong
