is it me?

hi,
my father in law asked me to put a new battery in his alarm so on step ladder I needed a magnifying glass to read the removal instructions! Insert screwdriver and slide away.....which I did. Now at ground level I turn the object over and discover another miniature label "switch off mains before removing" Is it me? it would have been far more use to have the label on the outside where you could see it before removing the alarm and also the instructions on the outside in normal size print. Did I mention this is in a retirement flat?

I started having trouble when I was 18 trying to read the pin numbers included as part of the translucent moulding on 100 way plugs/sockets. I've been going downhill ever since....!

We bought a pair of good quality scissors a while back, came in a vac-formed clear plastic-welded case, absolutey NO WAY could they be freed from its packaging, & without a stanley-knife to release them, they would still be in there.
