Its Arrived!
I joined this forum a few weeks ago because we ordered an Autosleeper.
Well its Arrived!
It a Warwick XL.
Not slept in it yet, but first impressions are very good. Not quite without its problems, though. A nasty rattle on the way home turned out to be a rather silly metal shelf in the toilet compartment, why its not a small cupboard I'll never know!
We are getting used to having less space than we had before with our coachbuilt, but there is little doubt that the drivability benefits will outweigh this.
One question that I wondered whether anyone has solved.
Our last van had a radio with both a USB in and an Aux in, so you could plug in an MP3 player either way and listen to music through the vans system all evening!
I have fixed the 20 minute issue on the radio itself- now 3 hours which is fine - but whilst there is a USB in, in the locker under the radio, the USB in is ignition powered so pretty useless for what I wanted, ie listening to music whilst relaxing! And there does not appear to be an aux in.
Is this the case or have I just not found it yet????
There is another usb port in the living area but this appears just to be for charging. Whilst that IS useful, it would be better if it was also connected to the sound system.
Thanks

Thanks.
We are going away for 1 night, tomorrow, to check it all out. Then for a little longer the following weekend. Looking forward to it!

I hope you have better weather than we have over here at the moment, really cold and foggy.
We have had a couple of short trips out, however returned due to the thick fog.
Have fun

Hi Barnman,
We too have the XL and cant find away around this problem, how did you extend the radio to 3 hours? Must admit not being able to listen to music with out the ignition is a real pain, somebody must be able to sort it.
Apart from that so far the van is great.

Give this a try ...
Unlike previous seasons, this radio links to the CANBUS system and is supplied with a timer to automatically shutdown to conserve battery power. The radio has two modes, one for when the vehicle is used as commercial vehicle (NORMAL) and one for use as a Motorhome (CAMPER).
If a customer wishes to change the amount of time the radio will stay on, please follow the instructions below:
* Turn radio on using central power button
* Within 15 seconds, simultaneously press FM AS and preset button 2. Each time this pair of buttons are pressed, the display will alternate between
NORMAL POWER MODE and CAMPER POWER MODE
* Ensure that CAMPER POWER MODE is displayed, then press MENU
* Using the UP and DOWN button now changes the display to show various adjustable items. Cycle through the options until RADIO OFF and a number of minutes is shown on the display. This will take approx. two presses of the UP button or seven presses of the DOWN button.
* With RADIO OFF shown on the display press the LEFT or RIGHT button. Each press of either button will alternate the number of minutes shown between 180 and 0
* With 180 showing on the display the setting is complete and three hours of radio operation should be possible. Press the POWER button to exit the menu and return the display to its usual view.
Please note that in NORMAL POWER MODE the same subsequent steps detailed above can be followed, to choose between 20 mins and 0 mins of radio operation.
Best of luck

Re: Its Arrived!
Hi, yes this is exactly how I changed the radio from 20 minutes to 3hours. Only slight difference was that it only gave the options of 180minutes or zero minutes - nothing in between. But 180 minutes is fine.
I'll have another play around whilst we are away tonight to see if there is a solution to the usb port being ignition powered, but I am not hopeful on that one. My only other idea is that my TV can transmit FM. So theoretically I could play MP3,s on the TV and transmit to the radio. Something else to try!

Lucky You
I am still waiting for my warwick xl...promised beginning of April.
Missed easter break...look like missing may day bank holiday....have had to cancel some site bookings and a ferry crossing...all costing money.
had forgotten what the van actually looked like so i visited a marquis branch in s yorks....they had one for sale and another five in group !!stock!
If there is a next time I will order from a larger dealer.
Worried about going to normandy for the 70th celebrations....have booked a site and ferry but no van.

Hope it turns up soon.
Mine was also a little late, promised for early april, turned up at the dealer mid april, so late april delivery to us. I missed easter break as well, although not a great problem as we used our old van.
I think the bigger dealers advance order for stock, taking a chance on sales, whereas I guess the smaller dealers only order when they have a customer order??
For what its worth the van is very good, worth waiting for! -( Apart from a couple of minor problems.)
Re the subjects in my previous posts, there is no way of connecting an MP3 player to the radio unless the ignition is on. Which is a bit annoying, but in my case connecting via the TV which then transmits on FM does work.
