1999 Duetto Habitation Circuits
Hi,
Long time listener, first time poster.
I'm wondering if anybody has a diagram of the 12v circuits on the habitation side of a 1999 Duetto they would be willing to share?
The "manual" I got with the van (which is a set of loose bound photocopies) gives a diagram of the vehicle electrics including the 2nd battery and the fridge but there are no details of the circuits in the van. I want to answer four questions:
* The flush on the C3 isn't working. I've got water and I can hear the switch click. I'm guessing there is a fuse lurking somewhere. 12v works elsewhere.
* I want to confirm if I should expect the cigarette lighter and the stereo to be running off the leisure battery.
* Where is the best place to add a 12v socket into the habitation area (one of the twin pin things you find in caravans).
* Where is the best place to add a charge controller and a socket for a Solar Panel (to be free standing outside the van).
Many thanks.

Sorry, I don't know your van, but if the cig-lighter & radio are part of the 'cab' then I would expect it to be original equipment ( not Autosleeper ) & they USUALLY run from the vehicle battery & ignition-switch.

1) There is a blade fuse in with the toilet cassette, you can see it when the access door is open. From memory it is about 5 amp and can 'blow' if the pump motor gets stuck with a lack of use. Examine the fuse to see if it has blown, if it has not then the pump may be stuck and a gentle 'tap' may free it. You access the pump after pulling out the toilet roll holder.
2) The cigarette sockets on the MK5 Transits work without the ignition key being present at all.
3) Our twin pin 12 volt socket was installed in the TV shelf over the single rear seat.
4) I mounted our solar controller on the offside wall, by the overhead locker, but this was on a MK7 Transit, not a MK5.

Hi
Mine certainly do.
The radio is on the ignition switch accessory terminal and (as Spospe said) the cig-lighter is live all the time. However, as many of these vans get modified over the years I'd disconnect the leisure battery and check that the radio and cig-lighter still work.
The other thing worth checking is that the internal lights still work with the leisure battery disconnected (on EHU obviously) just to check that the the ZIG charger is functional.

Hi,
Apologies for the radio silence, I've been away with work and "Bub" has been in for a service. Thanks for all your replies.
I've had a chance to look at the look and it's not a C3 it's a C2 so I need to fill the top tank to make it flush . A rookie mistake!
Also found a blown fuse to the 12v socket so we're up an running. Thanks again for all your help.
Cheers,
M.
