just thought that i would introduce ourselves to the forum,we are john and jackie.we have been motor homing for a few years travelling around europe in a 7.1m burstener.we are now looking for a mezan as the smaller van would suit our needs better.are they still in production as the last model i can find is a 2009 model.i we would like to here from other mezan owners as to their reliability, comfort and any problems that you may have had..thank you..

Thats a bit of a downsize!! There are not many Mezans about in the rally/club circuit, think I have only seen two in ASOC and one of those lives in France. (there may be more, just not sen them) That said I have not heard any bad reports about them. If I were going down from 7.1 mtrs I would look at one of the VW range such as a Topaz if you need all facilities

thanks for the prompt replies, yes it is a big downsize we covered over 40000 miles with the burstener and whilst it had the comfort it also had some disadvantages.in a lot of areas of europe big vans have become targets for robberies so it is unwise to leave them unattended therefore most camping has to be done on campsites which can be restrictive.at first we relied on sites that had public transport nearby or used bycycles.we then moved to towing a motorcycle behind on a trailer.we wanted our touring to be stress free and we were going down the road incurring more stress.the cost of fuel is increasing and the van was returning 25 miles to the gallon therefore it was time for a rethink.a small van will return about 40 miles to the gallon and is far less conspicuous when left unattended.we hope to return to greece and then on to sicily next year so a mezan would cost the same prjce as a car on ferries.hope this isnt to rambling.regards john

Point taken over the ferry prices, but the VWs' are very economical if you get a 5pot one if you get stuck over a Mezan

thanks for the welcome and replies.i have been in touch with autosleeper and they have confirmed that the mezan is out of production and there is no intention to return to production,a bit dissapointed really because they looked like ticking all the boxes.we are now going to look at used duetto or symbol size vans.
