Woodchester NT - parking? Empty Woodchester NT - parking?

Post by Sally Wed Mar 27, 2024 6:46 pm

I had to cancel my trip to the Wirral due to illness so_sad

So I’m now planning another trip, this time to hopefully take in Woodchester, a NT property in Gloucestershire. Does anyone know if the parking is suitable for a 6m van please.  I can’t tell from their website, so hopefully someone will have visited and have first hand knowledge.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can help.

Woodchester NT - parking? Empty Re: Woodchester NT - parking?

Sally,

We’ve been several times in our previous van, a 6m Kemerton. The car park itself is fine, albeit on a slope, but the track down to it is narrow and rutted. This can be slightly challenging on a busy weekend. The car park I’m referring to is ringed in red on the map below.

If you’re happy to walk slightly further a better option is the car park for the nearby long barrow. This is ringed in green. It’s flatter and more easily accessed directly off the B4066.

The estate is NT but the house is run by the Woodchester Mansion and open only on Fri, Sat and Sun from now until Nov. See link below.

That’s great information Tim, thank you. I’ll use the Longbarrow car park I think. I’m walking the dog (puppy) so as I’ve seen the mansion before I’m not too bothered if it’s open.

Thank you for your help, it’s most appreciated.
