Re: New van for Xmas
I got a lego Aston Martin DB5 from my son, I'm waiting for him to arrive and help me assemble - role reversal from forty years ago!

You will probably fit it with a solar panel and a split charger

I wouldn't put it together...future classic VW collectable?
Also keep it in your A/S and those little brackets and screws might come in handy for holding a cupboard or two from falling apart in the future.

With 112 nuts and 100 bolts it's probably got more in it than the real thing!!!

Re: New van for Xmas
I had one of those about four years ago Ian.
It was one of the trickiest things I've ever had to assemble.
You certainly need spacial awareness to follow the instruction diagrams to make sure you've used the right bits in the correct place.
I made it slightly more difficult (and longer to assemble) as I had a new camera with the facility to collate the photos into a stop-go video, so was taking a photograph after each stage.
Thankfully, I've still got the video somewhere, so will just look at that rather than try and build it again.
Have fun.

Re: New van for Xmas
It’s the year for models because my daughter bought me a Rolife 3D puzzle of a Fokker Tri Plane. She knows I used to make lots of plastic models but this is different being made of wood.
So far it’s going well but it’s a bit delicate for my arthritic fingers. It clips together with care and I have only resorted to superglue once. I doubt it flying but it will make a nice shelf model.
Sorry no pictures, I havnt got to that bit of posting yet.
