Very sad news Empty Very sad news

Post by Peter Brown Mon Nov 07, 2016 9:20 pm

The ASOC Chairman, Jill Bertlin has been successfully fighting cancer for several years however earlier this year it returned but was treated. Recently it returned with a vengeance and despite Jill's absolute determination to fight it she succumbed in the early hours of this morning.

Jill was a much loved vibrant woman and she will be sorely missed.

I've delayed posting this in the hope that her closest friends hear in a more sympathetic way but am aware that the club in general are now becoming aware.

ASOC members know how to contact me so if you want to know more please contact me.

Oh how terribly sad, we have fond memories of meeting her and spending time with her in France on the Grand Bornand rally. A lovely lady.
Our sincerest condolences to her family and friends.

A lovely lady and a great ASOC supporter - not just as Chairman but also Membership Secretary for many years.  We will not see her like again.

Sincere condolences to James, the family and her many friends.

A really lovely person who will be sadly missed by  all - especially the ASOC.
We were at the Burnham rally when the announcement was made at the closing meeting on Monday morning - it came as a great shock and made for a rather sad ending to what had been lovely and joyful rally.
Our condolences to James and Family.

Thanks for posting this Peter. We had also heard the sad news at the Burnham Rally, and it came very much as a shock. We had met her on number of occasions at various rallies, the last being at St Ives where she seemed well though spoke of some health issues. Our sincere condolences to James.

Jills funeral will be held in Cartmel Priory at 1300hrs on Monday 21st November and will be followed by a reception at the Cartmel Racecourse Restaurant.

Camping will be available on the racecourse for Sunday and Monday nights. There will be no charge for the pitch. I don't know yet what other facilities will be available and if so what the cost will be.
