New to forum

Hi all just a quick hello an intro,
Just put a deposit down on a 2002 Ford Auto-Sleeper Amethyst (4 berth), picking it up next month.
We (the wife and I) have traded in our 1993 Talbot Express Auto-Sleeper against it, which we have had about five years.
Unfortunately, we like holidaying on the moors of Devon but have found the 2ltr petrol engine of our Talbot Express Auto-Sleeper struggling on the hills.
We went camper shopping this week and fond the Amethyst.
To our delight, the dealer has gave us what we paid for the Talbot Express Auto-Sleeper, so with the good trade-in we can afford the 2.5 TD Amethyst.
Here's to defeating all the devilish hills all around us allthumbz

Thanks for the welcome messages.
Been searching your forum for info on our van, already found some useful snip-its.
Will be contacting the insurance company on Monday regarding transferring on pick-up.
Hope it goes better then the last time .... that's a long story for another time.
Should have the van in a few weeks.

Hello from another Amethyst owner although older than yours and non turbo weve been over the Alps in ours last year. It coped..just hugegrins

Hope your pleased with yours too, its not the speed that counts its getting there in one piece lol.

Travelling Europe sounds great, we would love to travel more in Europe.
The wife and I did a two week tour of Belgium, France and Germany a few years ago, in our converted LWB Talbot Express mini bus and loved it.
Four years of owning a petrol Talbot Express Auto-Sleeper has taught us speed is not everything look here
