Hi everyone
Hi everyone. I have just bought my first motorhome. Having camped since I was six weeks old, I took the plunge and bought a 1992 Autosleeper Talbot Harmony. I've just got back from a week away in it and loved every minute of it. It was great in the heat and also the rain we had over the weekend. We had a bit of fun trying to figure out how the heck to make the bed up on the first night but other than that everything else was perfect! Looking forward to more camping ahead! :) Looking forward to reading everyone else's experiences with their Autosleeper vans.

Hi ames449 and welcome to the Forum
That first trip away in your van is great isn't it?
All that discovering things about it and trying things out- the novelty never wears off
Hope you enjoy it on here and don't be afraid to ask if you have any queries.
Cheers

Re: Hi everyone
I'm sure the novelty will wear off at some point, but for now I'm like a kid at Christmas! Where do you tend to head off to on your hols? I am thinking about maybe going to Ireland next year but for this year will mainly use sites in the UK. I was already in the Caravan and Camping Club from my tent days but joined the Caravan Club. They seem to have a lot of good sites anyway. I've just spent a week in Staffordshire moving around every few days to get used to pitching, emptying out and loading up. I tried independent commerical sites, CC sites and CCC sites, but I'm curious what everyone else uses.

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome from Paul and Carol in North Wales.
We've not ventured abroad yet so in this country we use a mix of sites depending on the season. Early in the year we tend to use C&CC sites so we can guarantee good loos and electric hook-up for portable fan heater and hair-dryer etc. In summer we like a mix of club sites, smaller commercial sites, CS's and particularly like the C&CC temporary holiday sites. Then late season we go back to using club sites. Considering joining the CC as well to give a greater choice of locations. Enjoy your van.

Re: Hi everyone
Hi there, Cal here - me and my wife (Libby) started 'campervaning' 4 years ago with a Swift Sundance and then got an Autosleeper this year and we have loved every minute of it. We live in Northern Ireland and have enjoyed mostly the Caravan Clubs small 5 van CL sites and have travelled all over the SW of England, Wales, the Scotish Highlands, Yorkshire Dales & Moors and seen some amazing countryside. We are just back from a 3 weeks grand tour of France staying with friends below Bergerac for the first week and then moving through the Pyrenees down to the med for 2 days and then up through the Alps. (we used mountains stages of the tour de france as a guide to great spots to visit (and i tried cyccling up some of them!). This Sep we have 2 weeks in Yorkshire and lake district whic we are looking forward to. We also has 4 days round the S West Coast of Irealand in April and try to get away every third weekend to a CL, Donegal or perhaps sometimes a CC event now and then.
Warm wishes and hope you continue to get the same joy we have had over the last 4 years

Re: Hi everyone
Welcome to the forum. Dont expect the novelty to wear off for a few years. Think you will love Ireland but do allow sufficient time people tend to try and cram too much into too short a time and miss out big time. Think about Tesco points to pay for or towards the ferry

Re: Hi everyone
thanks for all the advice guys and for sharing your experiences. I think travelling via motorhome is the funnest way to see the world. I love the freedom it gives you to be able to see so many different places and move around when you get bored of one place. Where have been the best places you guys have visited?
