Hi can anyone tell me how long it's possible to camp without EHU just using the gas & leisure battery. We are camping for 4 days, without driving and am worried about batteries going flat. Any help would be appreciated. We have a ford Duetto. up!

Wouldn't like to say particularly, but I bought one of these and swop it weekly between leisure and vehicle battery.

The question is impossible to answer without knowing what appliances you use, how often, what capacity battery you have and what condition it's in.

Just lighting alone, for example, has huge variations in how much it drains the battery. LED lights will take a fraction of the power taken by a halogen bulb, with fluorescent lights somewhere between those extremes.

Its normally stuff like TVs that use the juice.   For lighting and switch power (taps, toilet flush etc) you should be fine for 4 days if your leisure battery charged before leaving home.
I recon 7/10 days without electric and then its only needed to charge my electric razor, I guess it would be longer without that as the solar panel keeps things ticking over

We've done three days without EHU and without moving/starting the van. When without EHU we don't use the TV, try not to use the blown-air heater because the fan uses a lot of battery power, so that only leaves the lights, water pump and toilet pump. At this time of year hopefully you won't need the heater and lights won't be on for that long but just use as few lights as possible. As for the engine battery, there would only be the radio/CD player to drain that so again limit the time it is used.

allthumbz Thank you all for your replies it has helped us decide to keep a 13w solar panel ( which ive just bought but was thinking of returning) to trickle charge the battery while away & parked up, use our wind up lamp ( which is absolutely brilliant) & hopefully we'll be ok.
The auto sleeper site is brilliant don't get to view it very often but if you have any problems or queries it is fantastic so many people are ready & willing to help out, hopefully one day I will be knowledgable enough to help someone as still a novice . Thank you
up!
