roli sought me out on the Antrim N Ireland site in June. My wife and I had a very pleasant evening with him and his wife and friends.
Hi roli
We have had the Gatcombe from new and travelled widely in Europe and particularly in Scandinavia. (Up to North Cape). Recently toured S Ireland.
We are now 73 years old and Living between Glasgow and Loch Lomond
I had not heard of the Forum but recently sought advice on the web in connection with a failed Carver water heater. This ongoing and I will post my problem when I get chance.
Not had many problems with the Gatcomb but last year had broken and cracked rear springs. A VW van specialist fitted the replacements to VW spec from chassis No. One of their Servicemen was a motorhomer and recognised that the van was sitting lower and investigated. Neither VW nor AS tied chassis No to need for stiffer longer springs. Propper replacements were fitted and all OK. This may be an old topic for the forum but I thought I would share it with you.
Incidentally I tried for advice on tyre pressures from AS,VW and Continental but nobody would commit. After having Van weighed I now run 6psi lower than recommended all round.
All for now
