Hi from the new Guy!
Greetings
Hello from the new guy, thanks for letting me join your forum.
Two weeks ago I saw campervans up the West coast of Scotland basking in the fantastic sunsets we were having with their owners sipping tea made on board their portable homes and I thought "thats for me!" Now I have a Legend GL in the Driveway and I cannot wait to get out and use it.
She is an old girl and needs a little TLC and I hope some kind Legend owners might throw me some knowledge now and again. I look forward to the day I understand the van fully and can pass that knowledge on to the next 'new guy'.
At the risk of being laughed at .. is the Legend a Motorhome or a campervan? and what's the difference?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum, we love the west coast too
As for being a motorhome or a camper - it's whatever you want it to be

Hi Steve... Welcome to ASOF
A panel van conversion is generally considered a Camper van, a coachbuilt or purpose made body attached to a chassis is generally considered a Motorhome.... so I would consider your Legend or any monocoque to be a motorhome.
Some call them Camper vans or Motorhomes, it doesn't really matter a great deal I suppose.

Welcome from North Wales to me your Legend is a motorhome, my Symphony is probably a campervan (I often refer to it as 'the van' but a lot of folks go with the theory that a motorhome is self-sufficient (i.e. has washroom) whereas a campervan does not. When I'm feeling posh my Symphony is a motorhome.

Re: Hi from the new Guy!
interesting that, my VW T4 Autosleeper Trophy has a washroom/shower, so is it a camper (which is what I call it) or a MotorhomePaulmold wrote:Welcome from North Wales to me your Legend is a motorhome, my Symphony is probably a campervan (I often refer to it as 'the van' but a lot of folks go with the theory that a motorhome is self-sufficient (i.e. has washroom) whereas a campervan does not. Like my Symphony then, a motorhome to a lot of folk but 'a van' when you are not being pretentious.

Hello and welcome from a cloudy Leicestershire,
Definitely a Motor home,
My Topaz is classed as a Motor home, that is what is on the official registration document, it has an end shower with toilet and washbasin plus a wardrobe.
