Welcome to the forum Lindsay
At last we have an owner on the forum with a vintage Auto-Sleeper
Be great if you could show your 1974 Commer by posting a few pics in the "Vintage Models" forum!
Hope you enjoy your stay with us, and find the forum of some benefit
Best Regards

Hi and Welcome Lindsay
Those old Commers are getting very collectable now - seen a few on Ebay and I'm amazed how much they go for.
Beeing an Autosleeper aswell should increase it's stock. It's great that it's been in the same family for so long.
I agree with Admin that it would be great to see some photos of it posted on here
Cheers

hello from marlow
Hi Lindsay.
Welcome from Nottingham. I had a Commer in 1976 seem to remember it was a 71 or 72 model. At that time I was young daft and heavy handed managed to snap of the gear stick on the A1. Wondered why I kept banging my nuckles on the dashboard. Nice to hear some of these are still about and most of all being use for what they where made for.
Good luck with your project. Whisky.

Re: Hello from Marlow
Hello Lindsay,
Welcome.
The first Autosleeper I drove was a hired commer with a pop up top in the 70s. Been a fan ever since.
It was a memorable trip because we had a broken windscreen near Kings Lynn courtesy of Norfolk Council. Thier hedge trimming tractor threw a rock at us!
Apart from that we toured Wales,Cornwall,Devon along to Kent and back to Yorkshire via Norfolk without incident.
Todds Motorhomes near Preston have one of these on display in the showroom.
