Hi from Essex
Hi all my names Mike and im from Essex!
We recently purchased a auto sleeper executive on a 93 plate talbot body, found this forum while searching for autosleeper links online so well pleased there is a forum for owners like this. never even knew it existed. I got a message from someone on here asking me to introduce myself, tried to reply but got a message saying something about not making enough posts, perhaps cause im a newbie? Ive not had time to have a good look around yet, so much to read on here. looking forward to reading the forum as well as chin wagging with others here!
Cheerz all

Hi Mike and Shirley and Welcome again
It was me who sent you the Private Message but don't worry about not being able to reply - As soon as you've done a few posts the system allows you to send messages.
BTW that's a nice solid looking van you've got there.
Cheers
Stevo

Re: Hi from Essex
Welcome to ASOF Mike & Shirley, You have a rarer beast there, you may well have noticed that most the Talbots bearing the monocoque shell are Talisman's. Last week we were
on an ASOC rally and I saw one, same model as yours with a Yellow Top Band instead of the normal Grey/Brown or Blue Band. It hadn't been resprayed and its the only yellow one I have seen in 11 years rallying with ASOC. Also of note the last Execs produced also had the yellow top band instead of the green

Re: Hi from Essex
Thanx for the warm welcomes guys. roli, when I bought the van I didn't have a clue about different models it just happened to be on the dealers forecourt and after some haggling got it down to near on what I could afford. nice to know we have a rare one explains why so far Ive not seen another around. Any known problems with this model that I should be keeping an eye out for? shes not perfect by a long shot but seems to do what we want her to and for a vehicle nigh on 20 years old she still looks the dogs danglies :)

Re: Hi from Essex
The only thing that comes to mind are related to the Talbot bit, you will find articles in/on various sources on the gear change, and the other being rust. These cabs are now getting old but with TLC can be kept looking good. The best engine that was fitted according to owners was the 2.5
You will see quite a few Talismans about, they look the same but have a different interior
