Xmas presents Empty Re: Xmas presents

Agreed ........... except there wouldn't be any room in "Petal" if we had to carry real books with us! I bought my Kindle around June last year and I now have 175 "archived" (i.e. those I have read) and 25 more ready to go. In a similar period Helen has read another 30 or so on her iPad! allthumbz

That's why we have them. up!

NOT off topic a quote from Morecambe and Wise:

Ernie - "Have you got the scrolls?"

Eric - "No. I always walk this way!"

Best regards,

Ian

Nice one up! love my "real" books too. A friend who died in September left me her Kindle. Struggling to get to grips with reading from it.....

Xmas presents Empty Christmas Presents

confused3 I agree about the book thing. A book has pages that turn and smells all paper like. You can tell the best bits when you re-read them by the thumb prints. Some smart relative of mine bought me a plastic cube with a ball in it last year. Apart from ratling and driving me nuts I aint got a clue what to do with it. The dog cant even chew it. snigger My daughter says its suposed to be maze. shrugg Please just give me a book token, it gives me an excuse to spend the day in the book shop at peace and buy a book of my choice. They even have coffee shops in book stores now. good2

Its an age thing and kids wouldn't understand.
They'd be lost without their IPhone and IPod plugged into their ears &are so busy texting, they'll soon lose the ability to speak!

Some of the language I hear from the younger generation nowadays, that might be a good thing. I was taught that swearing only made up for a lack of vocabulary and that seems to be about right. censored!
