Edit feature reinstated
We have received PM's from a couple of members regarding the "Edit" function so thought we should make this statement.
This is to let members know that we have taken away the "Edit" feature when posting messages.
We didn't take this decision lightly, and it was in direct response to abuse by a member who took offense at a valid comment made by another member in response to one of his posts. Instead of entering discussion in an adult manner, he instead was rather rude to one of our moderators and then took the liberty and editing every post he had made, leaving us with a number of empty threads which we had no alternative but to delete.
The deletion of posts as such is not a problem, but it's very unfair on other members who have taken the time and trouble to assist other members, and enter discussion to also have their posts deleted as a result of another members action. It is also quite damaging to a newly launched forum to have to delete entire threads, when we are trying to get off the ground.
Therefore the "Edit" feature is temporally suspended until further notice to avoid this happening again. Please preview and double check the content you are posting to avoid mistakes before you "Send" to the forum. If however, you double post or make a mistake just PM myself or one of the Moderators and we will rectify any concerns you have with any post you have made.
This is a friendly "Adult" forum and we can not tolerate members behaving in such an immature manner. As a result of this behavior this restriction will stay in place for now, but will be lifted when our post count is higher. We will look into alternatives to see if other options are possible, for example a set period where posts can be edited for up to 24hrs but after this time can not be altered by members. But until we investigate this further I can not confirm any further changes at this stage.
Apologies to members who feel directly affected by the removal of this feature.
As always, thank you for your support!

Re: Edit feature reinstated
* Update *
We are pleased to announce that the "Edit" feature has now been reinstated.
Members will now have the option to edit posts for the first 12 hrs after posting to the forum, after this time the edit feature should no longer function.
We hope this change meets with members approval, and will at least offer some protection for our forum in the future to hopefully avoid similar issues which have occurred over the past couple of days.
We apologize for the delay in bringing this update to the forum, but have acted as quick as we can under the circumstances.

I'm also pleased the edit function has been put back on, so easy to make mistakes which you don't see til after posting.
But I do understand your reason for removing it as you did, especially after reading your explanation.
