Kingham Bluetooth/Microphone Issues
Hi all
I’ve just realised that my Kingham Bluetooth is not functioning correctly. I can hear the caller but they can’t hear me.
I’m also ashamed to say that I don’t think it’s ever worked!!
All other radio and phone functions appear ok.
I can connect any phone without a problem via Bluetooth but always the same issue with calls.
I am assuming it’s the built in microphone possibly causing the issue. I understand the mic is part of the front courtesy light cluster.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Have you given the van's system access to your microphone?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. You mean in the van settings or the iPhone settings?

Would that be in the Bluetooth settings for that device? If so everything is toggled on but can’t see anything that specifies microphone?

It's more likely to be in Permissions I think but it's a long time since I had an iPhone. Usually, if an app needs microphone access, it will ask you to give permission. I'm sure someone else will know more than I.

Thank you for the info. iPhone slightly different but don’t have to grant access as I’m not using a specific app. I’ll keep searching, sure we will get to the answer Thanks again

Re: Kingham Bluetooth/Microphone Issues
I get exactly the same thing in the car occasionally, I can hear the other person but they can't hear me.
I end up having to turn the bluetooth off on the phone and then on once the car is running to reconnect it and that's the only way I can get it to work, won't connect when the engine isn't running. Never tried the bluetooth in the van but I think it will be a similar set up as both head units are made by the same manufacturer.

Just had a quick look at the handbook and there is an icon on the screen for speech quality when on a call, when you touch that it allows you to increase the volume of the mic - you could give that a check incase the mic is turned off (the car is slightly different as I have to go into the settings to do that so your head unit may be a bit different as well.)

Thanks I’ll check the handbook again. Not sure we have the same stereo unit though. Mines just the original
