Re: Going all electric?
I’d be quite concerned about heating. But mainly because tonight, I’m staying at 6000 feet, and it could get a bit chilly.RML wrote:The only problem I can see is getting water hot enough for a comfortable shower.

Re: Going all electric?
We’ve just come back from France where our 800W microwave (with an input wattage of 1200W) blew the ‘6A’ power supply, despite having everything else turned off.
The solution was quite painless, we paid M Le Patron one euro to update the supply to 10A.

Re: Going all electric?
I have had that experience on a (large) site in Germany. I thought this is just the surge at startup and if I reset the circuit enough times I would get a microwaved curry. I gave up after about 20 attempts.Jarjar wrote:We’ve just come back from France where our 800W microwave (with an input wattage of 1200W) blew the ‘6A’ power supply, despite having everything else turned off.
6A * 230V = 1380W ?
Just realised I should have turned the microwave power down.

Re: Going all electric?
That wouldn't work. Lower power settings on microwaves work by simply stopping power for so many seconds, eg putting it at 50% means 20 seconds full power, 20 seconds no power, 20 seconds full, 20 seconds none etc etc.AutoSleepy_Don wrote:I have had that experience on a (large) site in Germany.
