Hi Newbie Here
Hi Mike & Jackie here just joined up as we are looking at getting an autosleeper we did want a vw clubman but since finding this site have noticed you can only seat 2 and we have 2 kids. So now we are thinking of a vw medallion i notice they only have one seatbelt in the back but was thinking i could get another fitted on the rear facing seat. Not looked at any vans yet hope to this weekend.

Hi, you need to be looking for a van with forward/rearward facing seats in the habitation are for seat belts, even if you find one with seatbelt that has side facing seats dont be tempted to buy as in situation seatbelts can be harmfull.
Have a look at Talisman, Windsor & Sigma (L Shaped layout gives option for a forward facing seat with belts)think the Inca had a similar option to the Talisman and also the Orian Gemni (same layout as Talsiman) or a Nuevo ES ? (think thats the model - if it isnt someone correct me please) There is probably more but these are the ones that spring to mind.

Hi and welcome from East Yorkshire.
Good luck with the search, the seat belt laws are a bit complicated to say the least.

Hello & welcome from S/Yorks
My Talisman has 2 rear facing seats & 2 forward facing, the later having factory fitted lap & diagonal seatbelts, just like a car.
Regards

Re: Hi Newbie Here
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone and the info. Seatbelt laws complicated i know what you mean we have had a vw i converted 9 years ago which has always had side bench seats in never had a problem. But if i am getting a coach built van i would like seatbelts or the option to retro fit them. Would like to stick to a vw base van so if my van sale completes ok friday i hope to go and have a look at a medallion.

Hi there,
Welcome from a dull but warm Skegness.
I think you may find it better to get a vehicle with seat belts in place than do a retro-fit.
Best regards,

Re: Seatbelts in clubman
Hi there
Welcome from sunny (rare) Skerries
Was just about to introduce myself but wanted to reply to your post first. We have a 96 VW Clubman which has 2 lapstraps on the back offside seat (well hidden under the seat back). Maybe they only put them in if you take the extra bed above the cab option.

Re: Hi Newbie Here
Thanks for that info dalyhayes it was the 4berth clubman we fancied but they have side facing seats and from what i have read online you can do more damage to people sat sideways with belts on.
