Engine Light

Hi All,
my van is based on a 96 transit (Yes the epic pump one) 2.5 TD and I have the dreaded engine light comming on sometimes. Off and back on seems to fix it, and im sure it happens more often with quick throttle movements but cant be sure on that. Any know of anyone with the scanner that can read these vans via the ODB port? I know you need a laser2000 scanner for these but im struggling to find someone with one.
