Hi everyone. Thank you for allowing us to join the forum. We are retired and have just purchased a 2014 Mercedes Auto Sleeper.. Bourton. So very excited. So much to think about. Insurance? Security as it will be on the drive?  3 pooches... How to confine them, they won't crate together. Best TV to purchase, there is a satellite dish on the vehicle. I'm sure there will be more questions from us but any information you can give would be appreciated. Many thanks

Hi and  group_welcome to the forum.

Congratulations on your purchase, I'm sure it'll give you a great deal of pleasure.

Can't help you on the tellybox, we don't have one in the van.  When we're travelling we just use the laptop or tablet for the odd DVD or streaming as we tend to read (ebooks) a lot.  Don't have pooches so we'll leave that to others to answer too.

On insurance, we have been with Safeguard for many years, it suits us as their motorhome insurance policy also includes UK & European breakdown cover at no additional cost, so if you're getting quotes make sure you allow for this when comparing premiums.  Also make sure they're aware of your alarm category and any additional security, as well as reversing sensors/camera, club membership/s etc as these often qualify for discounts.

Enjoy your Bourton, sing out if you have any further questions.

Sorry cant help with advice of travelling with the dogs, in our doggy days we were tugging so they were contained in the car whilst travelling.

The TV (dual voltage) is mainly down to personal preference but obviously you would want to see one working prior to buying. Thats where the shows come in.
See you are in Cheshire, Town?
Re Insurance we were with Safeguard for around 18 years, no problems other than their annual increases (which they reduced when queried) were a pain so we changed to Caravan Guard around four years ago

I would personally recommend a TV by Avetex

It’s a quality range of products and on the only occasion I had a fault I sent it back to the manufacturer and it was back within 7 days all fixed

I purchased mine if I remember correctly from John Lewis which gave me a 5 year warranty
