No I'm sure if you described a cream flip top, square waste bin they would probably be able to recognise it. I didn't see any others there at the time.groundhog wrote:Like the sound of that David, was it just a random item or do you think they would recognise what I was talking about if I tried to get one for our Worcester?

Ive got some very small metallic ones at home, used to hang Christmas cards.

Mine are small plastic ones which I clip from underneath and the lid closes fine.

Re: Habitation door bin
The retaining clip on the bin in our 2013 Broadway was broken within a few weeks, I managed to glue it back together, but we never used it as a waste bin again. We found it safer just to use it to hold dog poop bags and the dogs brush.
Our latest van ( non Autosleeper) has the exact same flimsy bin attached to its Hartal door. We use this one to store dog related items too.
Far too flimsy to use as a proper bin, and Burstner must realise this as they supply a proper free standing bin too.

Re: Habitation door bin
Hi groundhog - sorry for the delay in responding - yes they should know what you mean if you describe a cream coloured, square, flip top waste bin usually fitted inside a kitchen cupboard. They had a stack of about ten and cost, I think, about £12. Seen an advert in one of the club magazines just lately for a slightly bigger replacement for the standard slim bin on a Hartal door at about £45! And it's again not as big.groundhog wrote:Like the sound of that David, was it just a random item or do you think they would recognise what I was talking about if I tried to get one for our Worcester?

Habitation Door Bin
Do you by any chance have the manufactures name and model number of your new bin?rventhusiast wrote:We do tend to use a waste bin and have to agree the Hartal slimline offering is neither use nor ornament - although I do like the suggestion above to use it for dust pan and brush. However, whilst fighting to retrieve a rather overfilled bag (half empty once removed) I managed to snap the thin retaining strip. As we were at Bridlington and I planned to visit O'Leary's at Woodmansey for some wood veneer to make some interior modifications, I took the opportunity to mooch round and found a stack of the larger square flip top bins normally fitted on the inside a kitchen unit door. I tried it against the door/footwell and it looked a good fit so bought one, went back to the site, removed broken one and fitted the new one in its place. Nice fit in the footwell on the Mercedes when the door closed and the door opens wide enough to allow safe passage on entry/exit.
This will work fine for us.

Sorry Eltel, just had a look and there is no make or name on it. However, if you go onto O'Leary's Motorhomes site and type waste bin into the search bar about nine items down you will see 'Door Bin (Beige)' priced at £14.99 - hope this helps.

I’ve had a look on the website and hopefully it will fit my 2016 Nuevo
I would grateful the next time you go into your motorhome if you could give me the dimensions H W D
Does it come with a fixing kit?
Regards

Re: Habitation door bin
Hi Terry,
Have had a quick measure up as follows:
H X 30cm
W X 30cm (at widest point if remove able handle)
D X 23cm
Although not obvious from the photo on O'Leary's website it comprises of a long wall bracket with a remove able flip top lid on which the remove able square bin hangs. So you can take the bin off the bracket but in transit it is still secure. I simply removed the (similar) hanging bracket of the slimline bin from the Hartal door (held in with two screws) then fixed the new bracket (three screws) in much the same place.
Hope this helps.

Since bought some mini stainless steel bull dog clips. Just use two. Even better than the small pegs. Works perfectly. Keeps bags nice and secure.
